GMP Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced Machine Setter for a hugely successful manufacturing company located in Hay-on-Wye, on a full time, permanent contract.
Week 1:
Monday - Thursday: 05:50am -14:00pm Friday: 05:50am - 13:10pm
Week 2:
Monday - Thursday: 13:50pm - 22:00pm Friday: 13:00 - 20:20pm
With one week every six weeks working the Night Shift, 22:40pm - 06:00am
- We would also consider someone from a Production background who has had exposure to maintaining machinery and is looking to take the next step_
Machine Setter Main Duties:
- Support the Operational Engineers to strip down, clean and reassemble production equipment as per routine maintenance schedules.
- Advise Operational Engineers of any machine or plant which requires major repair or maintenance.
- Highlight potential areas for improvement within production area regarding equipment or procedural changes.
- Carry out packaging machine reel changes, code changes, removal and replacement of tooling, minor adjustments and minor repairs.
- Working to Key Performance Indicators
- Assisting with commissioning the tooling for new products
- Preparing tooling for next production run
- Effectively communicate line issues regarding anything concerning product, component, documentation, and equipment performance which appears unusual or obviously incorrect.
Machine Setter required skills and experience:
- Proven relevant experience working as Production Operator or mechanical based engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology (i.e. Lean Six Sigma
- Yellow Belt).
- Relevant experience gained within a quality role, or highly regulated industry
- Have practical technical ability
- GCSE level in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Certificate of competence NVQ2 in Engineering
- Good IT skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Ability to be logical and orderly
- Ability to be comfortable with the interpretation and completion of documentation
Note:
due to location, a driving licence is essential for this position.
