Description

Do you have a passion for supporting children with challenging behaviour? Do you think you can make a difference to the lives of children who are struggling to engage within education?

Empowering Learning are supporting a school in the Derby city area (DE22) who are looking to appoint a full time behaviour specialist to work across their school with a number of children.

Has previously supported children with challenging behaviour
Possesses experience of working within a primary school or similar setting
Can build relationships with pupils who are struggling to engage in class
Will be able to manage the challenging behaviours of children
Can be an effective communicator and liaise with a range of professionals
Understands how to support children with additional needs
Can lead intervention groups with children working below age expected levels

The main duties within the role will be:

Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils across KS1 and KS
Delivering small group academic interventions with pupils working below age expected levels
Running intervention sessions with children based around positive communication and teamwork skills
Running lunchtime groups with the aim of reducing the number of incidents at this time
Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom
