Shipping Key Account Manager required for world renowned brand looking to strengthen their position in the shipping world.

What this role offers:

£50,000 to £60,000 starting salary (negotiable depending on experience)

Main responsibilities:


  • To visit and build relationships with freight partners to enhance the customer experience reducing delays and improving service levels.
  • Work with the business to create schedules and document specific customer and shipping management requirements and maintain its accuracy throughout the trading year.
  • Proactively arranges regular virtual meetings with forwarders and delivery partners, highlighting any issues and managing these through to resolution.
  • Proactively manage peak working with customers, forwarders, Customer Service, and sales teams to maximise output and achieve best possible service for our customers.
  • Provide monthly data analysis of key forwarders performance in line with agreed delivery KPI's
  • To manage the export orders through the warehouse, ensuring that we meet freight forwarder timescales and to highlight where improvements can be made to the customers delivery journey, including but not restricted to order submission, release dates and timesto the warehouse, delivery method to partners, best providers.
  • To deal with all export escalations relating to warehouse and freight forwarders, feeding back outcomes to the Export Manager where needed and seek timely resolutions and future preventative measures.
  • Responsible for orders being presented, labelled, and booked in appropriately for successful delivery to the relevant freight forwarders.
  • Understands and implements changes re Brexit, customs and country specific rules and advise the business of any required changes.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, International Sales, Export Manager, and other related departments to optimize processes and provide customers with best delivery journey
  • Influencing of shipping partners to enable alignment to company policies

Knowledge and experience required:


  • Strong knowledge of Exports, warehouse and Freight forwarding ideally from an Air or Sea background
  • Comfortable with Sales & pricing
  • Proven track record of negotiation and influencing key stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse reports and statistics
  • A good understanding of budgeting and reporting
  • Experience using EDI and preparing shipping documents
  • BSc/BA in supply chain or logistics would be a big plus
