Disclosure Officers within the Civil Disclosure Unit provide a valuable and demanding role in supplying information for Disclosures and in ensuring compliance with legislation.


The successful applicant will be required to work under the line management of the Civil Disclosure Manager, be expected to manage their workload on a daily basis giving regard to legislative time frames and demand, and will need to be a confident decision maker who is able to interpret relevant legislation and guidance when considering disclosure.


Daily tasks will involve examining arrests made across the force and assessing whether we believe their employer needs to know about their arrest in order to safeguard.

You will be trained in risk assessments, disclosure texts and will then liaise with employers/registered bodies via telephone and in writing, complying with all relevant legislation including Part V Police Act 1997 and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Essential

  • High standard of written and verbal English to enable effective communication.
  • Proven experience of ability to research and analyse information.
  • Be able to provide concise and accurate written reports, present data and form conclusions based on the information found.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on their own.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication skills.
  • Able to learn and use multiple computer systems.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work.

Vetting:


Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.


Medical:


Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.


Hours:
Full Time (36.5 hours). Hours can either be Shift Pattern 1 (8am-4pm) or Shift Pattern 2 (7am-3pm).

Interviews:
Interviews are expected to be held w/c 10th July 2023. The interview will be competency based and conducted in line with the Competency Value Framework.
