JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Senior
Level 5

Based in Norwich with visits to regional offices as required


Main purpose of the role:


To be a valued member of the Business team, working with the Partners and management team to actively contribute to the growth and development of the department.


This will be achieved via monitoring quality of work across the division, delivery of exceptional client service, development of the team and creating an inclusive supportive environment.


You will have the responsibility for all aspects of your portfolio of clients, as well as the opportunity to be involved in business development activities.


Key areas of focus:

General

  • Management of an appropriately sized portfolio of clients reporting directly to Partner/Manager, with a focus on delivering great client service.
  • Ensuring you "know your clients" which involves communicating on a regular basis to enable us to provide a proactive service
  • Ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages internally and supporting clients' accounting systems.
  • Preparation of accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns in line with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Ensuring the clients are on the most suitable cloud based product and reviewing this with them on a regular basis
  • Reviewing work completed by other member of the team
  • Managing your own workload and client expectations as well as assisting others with their workload
  • Working within budgets and timeframes set.

Business Development

  • Actively seek out opportunities to develop and grow the firm
  • Have an awareness of the wide range of services that Larking Gowen offers in order to spot opportunities to assist clients
  • Take a proactive approach to advising clients on forthcoming regulatory changes
  • Active involvement in marketing events, when appropriate, acting as an 'ambassador' of the firm

Task Management

  • Proven ability to effectively manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Consistently achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions relating to productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service,

Training

  • Ensure compliance with all CPD requirements.
  • Proactively identify training requirements to assist with personal development.
  • Share experience to assist with the development of others.

Other Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the firm's risk management policies and procedures,
  • Undertake other duties to meet the demands of the business as required

Person Specification:


Education and qualifications
Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)


Skills and Experience

  • Postqualified experience within practice
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio efficiently and effectively
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadline and priorities
  • Experience of dealing with client matters.
  • Cloud software product knowledge and previous experience.
  • Experience of overseeing staff
  • Cloud certifications (Xero, QuickBooks)
