About the Role
Drax's commercial success is reliant on delivering nature, people, and climate positive outcomes. Through the development of management systems and assurance. You'll build a robust system for the development of sustainability policies, metrics, assurance models. Leading and delivering annual reporting on sustainability, and you'll also complete other business reports and disclosures including investor surveys.


Working collaboratively with the business, you'll reassure our Executive Committee, the Board of directors, customers, regulators and other external stakeholders that we are working to the expected verified ESG standards and delivering to our sustainability plan.

Failure to do this well, could result in game-changing consequences risk to our compliance, reputation and trust with stakeholders.


You'll form an integral part of our ESG and Sustainability centre of excellence, understanding what is required to meet regulations in synergy with stakeholder expectations on the governance of our entire approach to sustainability.

You'll take the lead on how we create and embed the relevant policies, track progress, the language we use, collate qualitative and quantitative metrics and ensure that the best available management and assurance systems are in place and being delivered consistently.


Reporting directly to our Chief Sustainability Officer, you'll also work closely and collaboratively across the entire Sustainability Leadership Team, company Secretariate, Finance and other functions.


About You

You will either have a degree in sustainability/ESG related discipline and / or have demonstrable experience in developing and implementing Environmental and Social governance in complex global organisations.

Previous experience in ESG disclosure, including developing and implementation of ESG frameworks, annual reporting is also essential in this role.

You'll have experience of report production and cadence, alongside non-financial data reporting processes, internal controls and external assurance.

Knowledge of ESG frameworks and disclosure requirements, emerging regulatory requirements, and investor expectations in relation to those requirements are essential in this role.


Methodical and Process-oriented; you'll be analytical; innovative and adaptive in a fast-paced environment and you'll be both a good technical communicator and storyteller for less specialist audiences.

Comfortable with outreach and networking with wider standards and stakeholder community, you'll have a passion for creating their desire to interact with us as a business, share their thoughts and observations as we develop and deliver our sustainability plan into the future.
