An opportunity has arisen in a wonderful rural school for aEYFS & KS1 Level 2 Teaching Assistant.
A vacancy exists for a teaching assistant to work in our EYFS and KS1 classes.
It will be for 30 hours a week (8:30am until 3:15pm with 45 minute lunch), 5 days a week, term time only.
We are requiring a level 2 teaching assistant who has previous experience working in a classroom with these age groups and is able to start from 26th February or as soon as possible after that date.
Duties:
- Provide support to the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Assist students with their academic work, including tutoring and providing additional guidance
- Work closely with students with autism or special education needs, providing individualized support and accommodations
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement behaviour management strategies
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom setup
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special education needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children
- Knowledge of educational principles and practices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
