Description

Production Editor, Europe:

  • Fortune_ is seeking a production editor for Europe based in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new European team responsible for expanding the reach of _Fortune_'s biggest franchise lists, such as the Fortune 500.

The production editor will be integral to the publication of Fortune lists and will be responsible for ensuring editorial colleagues—such as writers and editors, the art and photo teams, social media, video, and newsletter producers, and others—have the information and tools they need to create and shape content and promotion around each list.

This editor will also be integrally involved in the creation of blurbs for our lists.

The production editor will construct _Fortune_ lists and customize their functionality, uploading data and supplementary content and multimedia assets. They'll also help activate any applicable sponsorships. This role involves journalistic ethics and best practices, client relations, and product management.

You will:

  • Work with _Fortune_ editors to assemble and schedule Europe content in the CMS.
  • Coordinate with editors, the art and photo departments, and the distribution team to ensure content is built on time and with all of the required elements.
  • Review published Europe stories for production flaws and independently update them.
  • Review published lists for new bugs and report those bugs in detail.
  • Update _Fortune_'s production tracking system to reflect the status of content.
  • Brainstorm display copy and SEO keywords.
  • Select and upload photos suitable for editorial use.

You are:

-
Proven:You've handled high-priority projects and liaised with multiple stakeholders. You can demonstrate strong attention to detail and can not only spot problems like minor stylistic inconsistencies or bugs, but also take it upon yourself to fix them.
-
Flexible: Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
-
Nimble: Organized and able to juggle multiple tasks, as well as able to pivot amid breaking news or when there is a critical issue with the CMS/website.
-
Experienced:Familiar with a digital publishing content management system (CMS), ideally WordPress, and have an understanding of SEO best practices.

This role is based out of the _Fortune_ London office, with a current expectation of three in-office days per week.
