The Role


The main purpose of the role of Payroll Assistant is to support the payroll department in various tasks related to employee compensation, benefits and posting the payroll journals.

This can include calculating wages, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing of tax withholding, handling deductions, preparing payroll reports, and assisting with compliance to labour laws and regulations.

This role is integral to maintaining positive internal employee relations and compliance with payroll regulations.

Within LiveScore Group's business development plans, the Payroll Assistant's responsibilities contribute to the seamless functioning of HR and finance operations, supporting the company's growth trajectory.

You'll collaborate with HR and finance teams, honing your communication and teamwork skills.

The role offers room for professional growth as you become proficient in payroll processes and gain exposure to broader financial functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate, process and post global monthly payrolls, deductions and benefits, including pension schemes, with meticulous attention to detail to ensure precise and errorfree payments;
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of personnel information for payroll processing;
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information, upholding data security and privacy standards;
  • Provide relevant data required for audits;
  • Support and cover Payroll Manager;
  • Handle statutory and company payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, CMP, CPP, CPL and CSL within legislated, company guidance and deadlines;
  • Verify and reconcile discrepancies in attendance records, and other payrollrelated documentation;
  • Stay updated on relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies to ensure payroll accuracy and legal compliance;
  • Assist employees in addressing payrollrelated inquiries, providing excellent customer service and prompt issue resolution;
  • Continuously identify process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline payroll operations and enhance efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong Numerical Aptitude: Proficiently handle calculations, ensuring accurate and errorfree processing of employee payments and deductions;
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulously review and reconcile payroll data, avoiding discrepancies and ensuring precise financial records;
  • Knowledge of Payroll Systems and Microsoft Office 365 (with a particular focus on Excel): Familiarity with payroll software and tools to efficiently input, manage, and retrieve employee payroll information of multiple payrolls monthly paid employees plus);
  • Compliance Acumen: Understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and data privacy requirements, ensuring adherence in payroll operations;

Swiftly identify and address discrepancies, investigating and resolving payroll-related issues effectively;

  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication when responding to employee inquiries, explaining payrollrelated matters with patience and accuracy;
