Job Summary:

A cleaner performs a vital function in the organization. The tasks of a cleaner may be simple but they are crucial to the organization. Their functions go beyond simply cleaning. A cleaner has to play varied roles. There are a few vital or key roles that a cleaner must perform regardless of institutional differences.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweep and mop floors.
• Emptying trash.
• Clean, sterilize and disinfect equipment and wash cloths.
• A cleaner has to perform the simple and common security measures such as locking the doors and closing windows on the right time and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Steamclean carpets.
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, furniture and fixtures.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
• Check supply of soap, tissues and hand towels in rest rooms.
• Check stock of cleaning items and inform Managers/Supervisors for reordering.
• Cleaning of spills and wet surface to ensure good health & safety compliance.
• Help to move equipment and furniture.
• Initiate simple wood repairs and identify and report more complex repairs.
• Shovel snow from sidewalks and sprinkle salt on surface.
• A cleaner also has to do the work of repairing so will have to do the simple repairs that do not need professional help. Such repairs can include repairing wall panels and the like.
• A cleaner should always ensure cleanliness and hygiene in restrooms and other places in the building.
• Proven working experience as a Cleaner
• Must have the right to work in UK.

Salary:
£11.55 per hour
