HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Basic Salary:
£36,000 to £45,000 DOE (£21/hour)


Location:
Tyneside


Annual earnings:
£36,000 to £45,000 DOE

Early am pm (Monday - Friday), Late pm pm (Monday - Thursday), Friday pm pm plus alternate Saturdays 7.00 am pm


You'll make sure that the best trucks are back on the road as fast as possible when they require maintenance.

You'll use the most advanced workshop systems on trucks with state-of-the-art technology.

If you enjoy taking on responsibility, then we'll giveyou the freedom to perform diagnostics and to decide how to carry out maintenance and repairs on trucks.

You'll be part of a great team with friendly colleagues.

This is what you'll be doing:

  • You'll be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
  • You'll work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
  • You'll carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
  • You'll provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
  • You'll carry out final checks on work that has been completed.

This is what we're looking for:

  • Good HGV technical knowledge ensuring repairs are carried out to manufacturer's procedures in a safe and responsible manner
  • Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records
  • Ability to work with the Parts and Service Reception Team in a professional manner
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
  • LGV C & E licence beneficial
