Job overview:


We require a highly skilled, highly motivated Physiotherapist to work within our progressive countywide MSK Physiotherapy Service, as the MSK First Contact Practitioner Lead Physiotherapist within the established provider model.


The successful applicant will be an accredited First Contact Practitioner (or completed stage 1 and 2 of the verification process such as the portfolio route or relevant recognised HEI modules).

Experience of providing clinical supervision with level 7 critique is essential, being a qualified FCP supervisor is desirable.

The post holder will deliver clinical leadership to the FCP provider model workforce, delivering services to Primary Care Network Partners.

The postholder will have responsibility for safety, quality, training, and clinical governance agendas to support the service's FCP workforce.


The post holder will be based within one of our community hospital teams: a number of locations are available and will be agreed with the successful applicant.


Main duties of the job:


Working as a First Contact Practitioner within GP practice (up to 60% of contracted weekly hours) the post holder will provide clinical expertise, making decisions regarding the best course of action for patients' care.

This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP, and using clinical reasoning skills to undertake an assessment of the presenting problems, interpret findings, develop working and differential diagnoses, and formulate, communicate, and implement management plans that take account of the individuals' needs, goals and wishes, local service availability and relevant local and national guidelines and policies.


The post holder will take a lead role in supporting the FCP workforce clinically through coordination and delivery of supervision and training.

The post holder will take the lead in clinical audit and evaluation of the FCP provider model service.
