About SRK Consulting:

We are seeking an IT Manager, based at our Cardiff office.

The successful applicant will work closely with business leadership teams across the SRK UK group, which comprises offices in SRK UK and SRK Kazakhstan, and virtual offices in SRK Finland and SRKSweden.

Initially, the successful applicant position will shadow and report to the current IT Manager who will move to a new role within the business during 2023.

IT Manager - Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead, Manage, execute, and maintain IT operation function within the SRK UK group and
work alongside other IT professional in SRK UK's sister practices that comprise the global

group

  • Lead and oversee the IT department of the SRK UK Group, which comprises of a five
- member team including a Service Desk and Project team, to ensure the department can

meet the IT needs of SRK

  • Foster the growth of the existing IT team by managing and mentoring them, while also
ensuring that they continue to enhance their professional development

  • Engage in discussions regarding cybersecurity with the SRK Global Information Security
team as needed

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other IT team members globally and within the region to
implement IT strategic plans

  • Manage the replacement cycle and day to day maintenance of the IT network and
infrastructure

  • Identify potential IT service and infrastructure risks and proactively address them
  • Address audit findings identified by external and internal auditors
  • Ensure that the IT function has necessary and sufficient documentation
  • Maintain best practice methodologies for server management, maintenance, and backups
  • Oversee the annual IT budget, ensuring that it aligns with the department's infrastructure
needs and requirements, and that all expenses are accounted for

  • Maintenance of an asset register for all business assets (hardware and software), in line
with procurement and decommissioning control procedure

  • Oversee IT projects to ensure that they meet the business requirements and are actioned
in a timely manner

  • Oversee support of all software packages within the business including installation,
training, upgrades, maintenance, licenses, and user support

  • Technology risk analysis and implementation of risk mitigating controls
  • Defining company standards and policies for systems, equipment, data management and
software in line with best practice guidelines (including UK GDPR)

  • Service level management in terms of vendor performance and service towards internal
customers

  • Implement and maintain data architecture in line with best practice principles and business
requirements

  • Provide regular updates to senior management in monthly meetings, including key
performance indicators, project progress, and any IT-related business risks

  • Monitor IT spending and notify SRK's management group of any overbudgeted expenses
  • Innovative solutions to streamline day to day processes and keep up to date with new
technologies and software


IT Manager - You:


  • Information Technology / Information Systems related degree or equivalent experience
  • Extensive relevant IT working experience
  • Experience in a senior IT leadership / management role
  • Experience of mentoring and guiding an IT team
  • Strong IT project and change management background
and concise manner

  • Experience of writing and updating IT policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Experience in managing relationships with vendors and contractors
  • Demonstrable experience with any of the ICT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, ISO
20001)

  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft cloud platforms including Microsoft 365 (focus
on Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Endpoint Manager, Active Directory) and

Azure

  • An understanding of enterprise hardware stack (Dell\Fortinet)
  • Knowledgeable with a keen interest in technology trends, cyber security trends, related
regulations, adoption behaviours and measurement frameworks / tools

  • Proactive, adaptable approach

  • Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Aptitude for quickly learning new technologies
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability
