Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with a growing SME business based in Newcastle City Centre who are looking for a Project Management Office Lead to help support the business with internal & external stakeholder management.

Working within the healthcare sector they have experienced huge growth over the last few years and are expecting to double there turnover in the next year.

Responsibilities:


The post holder will lead on key projects and oversee the work of other project managers to ensure success delivery of a growing portfolio of health informatics and education projects.

Responsible for management of RAID across multiple projects and programmes.

An ability to work with a range of internal colleagues to leverage the benefits of project management and a diverse group of international stakeholders to deliver tangible results in line with agreed project plans will be key.

To lead on organisational risk management working closely with senior colleagues to identify, mitigate and track business risks in line with ISO31000 guidance or similar best practice.


  • Lead on the overall set up and ongoing management of the project management office, taking responsibility for endtoend project delivery.
  • Accountable for the effective project management of multiple complex projects.
  • Ensure the smooth running of projects, ensuring robust and achievable plans are in place to meet key milestones. You will also ensure that plans and activities fully understood by all members of the Project Team.
  • Regularly meet with the Project Managers to provide support, advice, and refine plans as required to provide and up to date view on projects. Where appropriate you will question Project Managers on any deviance from plans, acting as an arbiter to resolve issues in the various projects.
  • Offer input into the resource planning process to ensure resources, including finances are appropriately and efficiently managed.
  • You will lead on risk management, improving our strategy in relation to risk, ensuring senior leadership are aware of any risks and mitigations. You will also manage the risk reporting, analysis, monitoring and provide regular risk reviews.
  • Ensure project registers are regularly updated to evaluate & effectively manage project risks, issues, constraints and decisions & any noncompliance (RAG Rated)

Person Specification:

  • A good level of Project Management experience
  • Managing, developing and training of PMs
  • Experience of dealing with escalations and working through them
  • Need to be "hands on" in the role.
