Description
About us
Learn Sheffield is a not for profit schools company which is focused on school improvement and owned by Sheffield's schools and colleges (who own 80%) in partnership with Sheffield City Council (who own 20%).
Our goal is to ensure that Sheffield children receive the best education in the country, so that our young people's achievement and readiness enables them to be active citizens of a world class city.
Learn Sheffield wishes to appoint Governance Clerks to provide professional governance services to school and academy governing boards and trusts in the Doncaster, Rotherham and North Nottinghamshire regions.
The role of the Governance Clerk is to support and advise governing and trust boards and to minute the meetings, working with the chair.
Experience and knowledge of education is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided to equip you with essential knowledge of the core elements of school and academy governance.
You will need excellent listening, oral and literacy skills with a high degree of attention to detail, an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and be able to write agendas and accurate concise minutes.
Pay:
£13.68 per hour - 5 hours pay for each two-hour meeting, pro rata (to allow time for writing minutes).
We expect the role of clerk to involve a combination of mainly face to face meetings with remote working to type up the meeting minutes.
The number of hours available is variable, depending on demand from schools, so this is typically a part time position and could be carried out alongside other roles.
Job Type:
Zero hours contract
Contract length: 36 months
Salary:
£13.68 per hour
Work Location:
Hybrid remote in Rotherham and North Notts
Reference ID: 01/2023
