Teaching Assistant

To undertake the general duties of a Teaching Assistant, working under the direction and within an agreed system of supervision from the tutor/teacher.

To complement the teachers' delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of students.

To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
Also, to supervise small groups occasionally, following the agreed plan for the lesson.

Assess, plan, organise and provide practical assistance in relation to identified physical needs e.g., transportation, dressing, mealtimes, and organisation of learning equipment to support.

Provide support and supervision for pupils, to encourage their engagement in the learning process and work towards agreed aims and objectives.
Work as part of a team contributing towards meeting the academic, social, behavioural, and emotional needs of young people.
Continuously promote ReFocus values, Employable, Sociable and Ready.

Job role Essential Criteria Desirable criteria

Teaching assistant x 2
5 GCSE qualifications or Teaching assistant qualification equivalents - Maths and English
Experience in classroom

C grade (Level 4 and above or environment

Over 18
Experience in behaviour:
Understanding of SEN and management individual needs of students Experience in developing
Understanding of behaviour student wellbeing and management awareness of mental health.

Understanding of safeguarding
Qualification / training in SEN and keeping students safe in Experience in Toe by Toe education.

First aid trained
Positive mindset and resilience Skills or hobbies that could be
Experience in education setting shown and taught in Enrichment activities

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
£12,500.00-£14,500.00 per year
