SEN Teaching Assistant
Tempest Education are seeking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly Primary School in Lewisham


SEN Teaching Assistant - The Primary School:
This primary school is based in Lewisham is a three-form entry primary school with fantastic transport links.

As a teaching assistant, you must have the ability to work as an effective team member, be well organised and have the ability to communicate withchildren and adults in a constructive and effective way.

The Lewisham based primary school is rated an 'Outstanding' on the Ofsted and has fantastic transport links and onsite parking.


Your main responsibility as an SEN teaching assistant will include working 1:1 with a child in KS2 that has ADHD and cane become very challenging.

This child responds extremely well to someone with a nurturing manor.

You will be supporting the child withtheir work inside and outside the classroom, working alongside the class teacher and liaising with the school SENCO.


The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must have:

  • Experience with Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of working with or caring for children
  • Strong behavioural management skills (preferred)
  • Be committed to promoting high standards in learning
  • A clear DBS

Main Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Working 1:1 with a child in KS
  • Supporting the class teacher
  • Supporting the child inside and outside the classroom
  • Liaising with the school SENCO
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated

SEN Teaching Assistant - Additional information:

  • Monday
  • Friday
  • 8:30am 3:30pm
- £90 - £100 per day

  • Long term / permanent contract
  • Primary School in Lewisham
