Are you a reliable and dedicated individual seeking an integral role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of a dynamic educational institution? Tradewind are seeking a motivated Caretaker to join our team, starting in September 2023, and contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Caretaker, you will be an essential part of our daily operations, ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and fully functional

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting routine maintenance and repairs to the premises, including plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep tasks.
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of school events, ensuring that spaces are prepared to facilitate successful activities.
Performing regular checks to ensure the security and safety of the premises, reporting any concerns promptly.
Managing the cleaning and tidying of classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces to maintain a clean and organised environment.
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the school and supporting other departments when needed.
Communicating effectively with staff, students, and visitors, providing assistance and guidance as required.

Shift Patterns:

During the holiday period:

Shift 1: 7am start, finish at 3pm.
Shift 2: 9am start, finish at 5pm.

Term time:

Shift 1: 6am start, finish at 2pm.
Shift 2: 10:30am start, finish at 6:30pm.

Both shift patterns include a 30-minute break.

Additional Responsibilities:

Opening up the school for contractors/teachers and closing at the end of the day.
General housekeeping, painting, porterage, and minor building repairs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferred.
Strong practical skills and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities.
