Recovery Specialist


The purpose of the Recovery Specialist role is to deliver and exceed the recovery KPIs set out by the clients that directly impact the profitability of our business.

The Recovery Specialist must ensure that they pursue a recovery against the agreed liable party within agreed timescales.

Where liability remains unresolved, they must use initiative to proactively escalate through the appropriate channels to secure a successful recovery.

The Recovery Specialist is responsible for managing the fund liquidity where applicable.

It is an essential part of our business that the funds we manage are kept above an agreed limit to ensure that the claims team are able to make payments to their dealers.

Where a fund falls below an agreed limit they must raise this to a Recoveries Executive and help provide solutions to improve this.


As part of the Recovery Specialists role they must create strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular reports on the status of the markets and attending internal and external meetings which may involve travel across the UK and Europe.

Being able to represent the company within these meetings and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills with liable parties is a key objective of the Recovery Specialist role that must be achieved.


Role Detail
Reporting to the Recoveries Manager and the Recoveries Executive, the role involves the management of a claims allocation including (but not limited to):

  • Issuing new recovery submissions
  • Updating Liable party responses
  • Controlling recoveries ensuring that wherever possible the liable party is held fully liable for all transit related damages
  • Analysing preentered recovery receipts by Accounts for accuracy and ensuring that these are reconciled in line with agreed timescales
  • Ensuring that knowledge of client/carrier contracts and conditions of carriage is up to date, as well as legislation that applies to automotive logistics. Understand the contracts and conditions of carriage enough to be able to negotiate claim settlement
  • Attend meetings external and internal
  • Report directly to the Recoveries Executive to escalate issues relating to liable party performance issues
  • Responsible for timebar management
  • Completing monthly Account Reconciliation
  • Report direct to the Recoveries Executive for potential issues/referrals/delivery of results
  • Be a role model and viewed as an experienced member of the team to fellow colleagues, assisting with problems or queries by giving support to the Claims Team/Recoveries Manager

Skills & Experience

  • Personable and approachable with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence and ability to deal with people across all areas of the business and levels of seniority
  • Excellent personal organisation, administration, numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent telephony skills
  • Excellent Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in working to timescales
  • Act as a role model, providing advice, solutions and support
  • Demonstrates the ability to see the bigger picture and understand how issues connect
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team, use own initiative and be proactive
  • Awareness and recognition of own learning needs and commitment to improvement for own development to gain cross client experience

Salary:
£20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
