Our Telford site are now recruiting for a Transport Operations Support Clerk on a 6 month fixed term contract basis.


Salary**:
£22,862.44 Pro rata


Working hours:
Days - 4 on 4 off, 06:00 - 18:00


Job Description:

The purpose of a Transport Operations Support Clerk is to mainly provide general administration support to the Transport Department.

Key Duties of a Transport Operations Support Clerk:

  • Correctly debrief drivers
  • Checking all timesheets for correct completion and ensuring all PODs are returned completed correctly
  • Scanning and storing PODs using Culina's document management system
  • Preparing drivers' wallets and issuing delivery notes in drop sequence plus any other relevant delivery information
  • Printing all despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as required
  • Answering the telephone and assisting with any enquiries
  • Downloading drivers' cards / tachographs
  • Ensuring all estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) are communicated to Customer Services
  • Consistently updating all spreadsheets including, but not limited to; changeovers, run summaries and trailer check sheets
  • Departing & Completing of loads using Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Ensuring all uplifts are despatched in correct loads
  • Ensure all trailers are tracked

  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
  • Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office e.g. PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually
