An exciting post has arisen for a MDT pathway coordinator within the vascular surgery department based at St Mary's hospital.


The successful applicant will provide a high quality day-to-day clerical service to our patients and be a highly motivated, organised individual.


Working closely with the vascular clinical nurse specialist, the post holder will provide administrative support for the whole inpatient pathway for vascular patients.

This includes scheduling surgery, organising pre-operative assessment and organising pre-operative work up.

The post holder will also support the MDT meetings, working closely with medical staff to prepare the presentation slides and ensure outcomes from the meeting are captured.

The day to day working relationships include interacting with patients as well as a range of clinical and not clinical staff and therefore the ability to work in a team is essential

  • Ensure that an excellent level of customer care is delivered to patients and members of the public.
  • Ensure that the administration of the department is efficient, effective and responsive (e.g. dealing with queries, correspondence and daytoday issues).
  • Assist with the scheduling of vascular surgery and support all aspect of the patient pathway including the organisation of diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure the Vascular MDT meeting is set up effectively and that all clinical notes are available for the member of the multidisciplinary team who is preparing the meeting and help with preparation of power point#
  • Ensuring that actions from the Vascular MDT Meeting are safely transposed to the patient's records
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for patient information from colleagues
  • Collate information of cancellations and ensure patients rebooked in a timely manner
