We are seeking to appoint 3 hard-working individuals as a Clinical Trial Assistant 1's to join our busy dedicated clinical team at our Early Phase Unit in Manchester.


FOCUS OF THE JOB

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team to facilitate the smooth running of early phase studies with excellent communication, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Perform ward and laboratorybased procedures and collect the data required for each study including blood sampling, carrying out vital signs and ECG measurements, monitoring urine collections, drugs of abuse and pregnancy tests.
  • Accurate recording of data collected in accordance with ICH-GCP
  • To prioritise participant safety by ensuring adherence to ICH-GCP

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • 5 GCSE's A-C or equivalent/ relevant clinical trial and/or healthcare experience
  • Experience in Early Phase research/ clinical trials (preferred but not mandatory)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical activities including clinical procedures
  • Venepuncture/cannulation
  • Setting up wards ready for studies including equipment and equipment calibration
  • Laboratory duties including sample preparation, record keeping/maintenance and maintenance/calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Data management
  • Commercial awareness
  • Professional and selfdevelopment

GENERAL

  • Compliance with MAC health and Safety policy
  • Compliance with MAC policy on equality and diversity
  • To maintain professional qualifications required for the role, including continuous personal development
  • To work to the requirements of SI 2004 no 1031 and amendments thereof, which includes Good Clinical Practice
  • To work according to MAC SOPs, guidelines and policies
  • To work according to current data protection standards and practice good information management. Maintenance of strict confidentiality of patient and businessrelated data.
  • To maintain a high level of initiative and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure your job role is efficiently carried out
  • To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers.
