Our client is a specialist financial services organisation.

They have new permanent vacancy within their Credit Risk Team for a Risk Analyst. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills and progress within the organisation.

Role
As a member of the consumer credit risk team you will help the team support their growth program. The role will involve assessing current new business trends and strategy to optimise the organisation's lending. Frequent use of SAS, SQL and Excel.

  • To support growing demand for development, enhancement and maintaining of credit portfolio analytics and reporting functions
  • Develop a good understanding of the current new business risk strategies across the multiple consumer products
  • Provide support in further improving current acceptance rate whilst maintaining portfolio loss rates
  • Provide analytical support for strategic changes to back book strategies
  • Assist in impact assessment of infrastructural improvements to new business strategies and ramifications for the business
  • Identify opportunities to automate new business strategy
  • Work in collaboration with internal and external business partners to achieve consumer balance growth targets
  • Develop and improve new business strategy analytics across multiple asset classes
  • Produce accurate and timely cyclical and adhoc reporting
  • Contribute towards the development of management information reports
  • Testing of strategy changes within the decision engine
    Skills & Experience
  • Degree level qualification in mathematics, science, engineering, business, economics, or similar discipline
  • Good understanding of credit risk concepts, in particular consumer finance
  • Experience in building and implementing credit risk strategies
  • 1+ years' experience working in financial services in a similar role
  • Highly numerate with a track record in data driven analysis
  • Strong SAS programming skills including Macros
  • Strong data handling and processing skills, for example SQL programming
  • Strong quantitate & analytical background
  • Good communication skills, including an ability to discuss complex analytical ideas with nontechnical colleagues in a meaningful way
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
