Lead finance professional requiring extensive knowledge and experience of Commercial Finance daily activities and Grid business, critical thinking and autonomy to support commercial operating rhythm and decision making.

Actively developing innovative solutions to deliver Customer outcomes and drive profitable growth while managing company risk/reward. Interprets internal targets and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes and services.

Proposes and supports implementation of initiatives to preserve and improve Company Profitability and Working Capital.

Learns about market practices, industry trends, statutory constraints and economic factors that may influence negotiation and execution.


Reports to Business Line Finance structure and is aligned with GSI priorities, supporting BL Commercial Leader along with Comm Ops, Sales Ops and other supporting functions to meet BL short and long-term goals and strategy.


Roles and Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

  • In partnership with GSI Commercial Finance Leader, drive and contribute in crossfunctional initiatives aiming at implementing / improving commercial processes (policies, automation, standardisation, digitisation); aligning standards to market best practices and eliminating process waste and defects.
  • Evaluate deal economics from a financial riskreward perspective, actively participating and supporting leadership reviews and decision making; joining customer and consortiumpartner/subcontractor meetings and negotiations whenever applicable.
  • Review bids and contracts to identify and mitigate Commercial Finance risks, work with the Sales / Commercial Operations / Tax / Treasury / Legal and other teams to structure deals that maximize profitability and minimize risk exposure.
  • Structure transaction Terms & Conditions to optimize revenue recognition, cash collection and reduce financial risk.
  • Assess and advise upon customer, subcontractor and partners creditworthiness, payment securities and financing structures prior to bid submission.
  • Lead and manage ITO Trade Finance Instruments (guarantees) with Treasury, covering wording negotiation, internal reviews and approvals, timely issuance and closing. Identifies Foreign Exchange exposure and seeks necessary protections. Supports other financial topics and provisions foreseen as part of the contracts.
  • Focus on strengthening of Commercial and Finance processes to drive growth, improvement and accuracy of metrics such as Orders, margins, convertibility and down payments, observing and reinforcing the applicable policies and instructions for recognition and reporting.
  • Responsible for critical activities in planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis of Orders / Margins / Down Payments / Convertibility and other commercial metrics as part of Commercial Finance operating rhythm.
  • Participate and lead in specific projects as defined by Business Line Finance and Commercial leadership.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated and relevant recent experience
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint to analyse information to build reports and presentations.
