Senior General Foreman - Environment

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior General Foreman to join the team at Galliford Try.


You will work on our Thames Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.


Ideally, you will be based in or around the Thames Water Framework Region and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the area.


Reporting to the Works Manager or Site Agent, it will be your role to take full responsibility for controlling all physical elements of the work from commencement through to the issue of the Maintenance Certificate and to maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability.


Day-to-day, in conjunction with the Site Manager, you'll co-ordinate and control initial site set-up, actively installing Galliford Try's systems and procedures, it will be down to you to manage the direct workforce and supervise sub-contractors, carrying out daily ten-minute briefings and toolbox talks as well as ensuring accurate record keeping, the Daily Diary, allocation sheets, plant returns, and GRN's.


As part of your role, we'd like you to write RAMS and brief them to the work force to ensure they understand the task as well as manage the works to meet a programme, ensuring the right level of resources are maintained for the tasks.

About You:


Alongside your demonstrable experience working within the water and/or sewage industries and an industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent, working on site, we'll need you to have relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS, IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR).

We'd like you to be confined space trained and hold a Temporary Works Supervisor CITB qualification. However, we will support you in covering any training needs.

Good IT skills, including software using MS Office and document management systems is required.
