Wood-Land Southwest ltd are a Countryside Contracting and Grounds Maintenance business based near Bridgwater, Somerset. We are a forestry, conservation, grounds and fencing contractor covering a wide range of contracts and clients. The countryside management we deliver, the majority of our work is outdoors in very scenic but challenging landscapes

• Exmoor National Park, Quantock Hills AONB, Blackdown Hills AONB.

The Person

• Enthusiastic, hard working, team player and enjoys working outdoors
• Experienced and skilled in countryside management and grounds maintenance is essential. Further training can be provided
• A full clean UK driving license is desirable as operatives may be required to drive company vehicles / tow trailers

Job description
We are looking to employ an experienced countryside management operative to our growing team. We are also looking for other operatives who meet our skills and job description.

We are looking for someone skilled in fencing (mainly stock fencing, post and rail), chainsaws (cross cut and maintenance, felling), strimming/ brushcutting, hedge trimming, grass cutting (strimmers, mowers), knapsack spraying, tree planting etc.

A multi tasked operative who's keen to put their hand to all land management tasks.

The services we offer include woodland creation and establishment, woodland and estates management, vegetation management, fencing, tree works, forestry and environmental projects so there is a wide variety of experiences and skills to be gained.

Fencing, forestry, chainsaw based tree works, tree and hedge planting, grounds maintenance, scrub clearance, weed control, grass cutting are our main line of work - as you can see we undertake a wide range of works dependent on client needs so the work is very varied and ever changing.

We are looking for a keen, reliable worker to join the team ideally with prior experience in this line of work.

Essential requirements/qualifications:

• Clean full driving license
• Ground chainsaw qualifications cross cut and maintenance, small fell, large fell
• Brushcutter
• Tractor driving
• Emergency First Aid at Work (can train on the job for this)

Work location and hours
Wood-Land sw ltd are based near Bridgwater, Somerset. The working day will start and finish at the yard - travelling to work sites across the region

Hours are circa 7:45am - 17:30 Monday - Friday. Weekend work can be offered to increase salary, particularly during the summer.


Salary

• 30,000 per annum + benefits depending on experience.
