About us
MI5 safeguards the UK against threats such as terrorism, espionage, cyber and sabotage.

We investigate suspect individuals and organisations in the UK to obtain, collate, analyse and assess secret intelligence relating to these threats.

Alongside our British Intelligence partners MI6 and GCHQ, we provide the UK government with the information they need to protect national security.

Are you an effective communicator? Whatever the situation, our team must be able to convey with both confidence and credibility, cyber security related guidance to a wide range of stakeholders. Written, visual and verbal communication skills are integral to the role, as is the ability to present information effectively - to be able to distil a complex concept into clear and concise message to a variety of stakeholders.
- **- **Can you read the room?** Understanding people and context is vital in this role. Our team needs individuals who interact effectively with stakeholders and can adapt their approach to the situation; helping to negotiate pragmatic solutions which fit the needs of multiple stakeholders. We are looking for people with an ability to motivate others to ensure cybersecurity is embedded across our organisation.

What you will do in the role


You will also support our colleagues in other cyber security teams such as security monitoring or incident response through your knowledge of the organisation's technology, assets and capability, while also contributing to the assurance that our organisation is operating lawfully through our close links with the leal compliance and data governance teams.


As a cyber risk adviser, you are often the face of corporate cyber security and governance in general across the organisation and work with a wide variety of business areas and teams doing out-of-the-ordinary things to safeguard the UK.
