JOB PURPOSE:


To co-ordinate the effective achievement of a safe working environment, (yard, warehouse and vessels), whilst maintaining full operational records and reporting on all Health, Safety and Environmental issues.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and Strategy

  • Support Operations through development, embedding and promotion of health, safety and environmental standards within Ferguson Marine.
  • Implement and maintain Company HSE, policies, procedures, standards and working practices and enhance the safety culture within the business ensuring a focus towards zero accidents and injury.
  • To ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and supporting procedures are implemented consistently across the Company.
  • To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practices, make recommendations and amend as required.
  • To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Company.
  • Develop and deliver inhouse training with managers and employees on all relevant aspects of health and safety.
  • To ensure the HSE function provide the required expertise to all areas of the business, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • To work within all business areas to ensure HSE standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands.
  • To provide input for regular HSE communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Effective communication and networking skills with confidence, good team worker
  • Logical reasoning with a proactive and can do attitude
  • Shipyard or experience in a similar industry
  • An understanding of current legislation
  • Computer literate
  • Experience of working with confined space entry, restricted work activities, working at height and various types of hot work

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate
37 hours per week - Mon to Thu, 8am - 4.30pm. Fri 8am - 1pm

This role is based onsite


Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
