As a Driver/Transport Assistant, your role is of immense importance in meeting the transportation needs of the Sisters.

You'll ensure they have convenient access to medical appointments, social outings, and airport transfers, making their journeys stress-free and enjoyable.


Full and part time opportunities available, flexibility is key, as the hours will be tailored to fit the required drives, allowing you to provide consistent and reliable support.

Please note as part of this role there will be weekend and out of hours drives required, as and when the need arises.


About Us


Set within the beautiful backdrop of the Surrey countryside, Ladywell Convent is the motherhouse of the Catholic Religious Order - the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM).

Here at Ladywell we offer support to the sisters who reside within Ladywell and the other FMDM sisters across the world.

Ladywell is also home to newly refurbished Franciscan Centre, which is open to the public and hosts activities, workshops, retreats and talks reflecting Franciscan spirituality.


About The Role


As part of your role as a Driver/Transport Assistant at Ladywell, you'll be chauffeuring the Sisters to the airport, medical appointments, and local destinations across the UK, you will facilitate their connections and enhance their experiences.

Your hands-on skills will shine as you confidently check oil levels, replace windscreen wipers, batteries, and car bulbs, and maintain proper wheel pressures.


As a Driver at Ladywell, you will:

  • Safely transport Sisters to airports, medical appointments, and various local destinations across the UK, ensuring a comfortable and worry-free travel experience.
  • Uphold the highest standards of vehicle cleanliness and maintenance to provide a pleasant and hygienic environment for the Sisters during their travels.
  • Support the Transport Coordinator by assisting with transport planning, ensuring efficient scheduling and coordination of transportation needs to meet the Sisters' requirements.
  • In addition to transportation duties, contribute to the wellbeing of the Sisters by delivering and collecting orders from pharmacies and local retailers. Accompany them on social trips, including early morning or latenight airport runs for international flights, enabling them to embark on their journeys with ease and convenience.

About You
To succeed in this role, practical experience working with vehicles is essential. Your expertise will ensure seamless transportation experiences for our Sisters, as you navigate the roads with confidence and precision. Your attention to detail and commitment to vehicle maintenance and cleanliness will be crucial, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys.

As a caring and dedicated professional, you'll exhibit excellent organisational skills, supporting our Fleet Coordinator in planning and coordinating transportation needs.

With your positive attitude and passion for exceptional service, you'll create a warm and friendly environment for our Sisters at Ladywell Convent.

Salary:
Full time equivalent is up to £23,000 per year, dependant on skills and experience.
