I am working on a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled shift Engineer to join my clients expanding Engineering department.

My client is a multi-million-pound turnover retail business, who's looking for engineers to support the assets within their maindistribution center.

Always working to the highest standards to maximise operational efficiency and ensure continuous availability of equipment for its 24hr Operation.


  • Perform rectification of MHE breakdowns and the provision of technical support as requested.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance work, to a high standard and within a scheduled timeframe, recording all information on departments CMMS system.
  • Demonstrate specialist equipment knowledge, coupled with individual flexibility, in order to facilitate PPM's and breakdown rectification.
  • Work as part of the Engineering team to promote best practice and give continuous & sustained kit reliability to Operations.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and PLC fault diagnosis on several different system types.
  • Work toward and achieve agreed performance criteria as part of the departmental and site SLA's and KPI's.
  • Always offer engineering support to the relevant level, to meet both the performance criteria required and to maintain manufacturer's standards to facilitate full production schedules.
  • Support all process control procedures in place and ensure all documentation is always updated and made available.
  • Provide recommendations to modify instructions to ensure the equipment is reliable.
  • Offer and deliver continuous technical support, both to production and the engineering team, to provide accurate and positive solutions to daytoday engineering issues.
  • Assist in the advance planning of maintenance, modification and fault rectification work.
  • Liaise directly with external contractors/suppliers who offer specialist support as required.

Requirements:


  • Apprentice trained and must hold an ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Mech/Elec Engineering.
  • Reliable, flexible and with a cando attitude.
  • Working knowledge of PLC based control systems (Preferably Siemens)
  • Knowledge/Experience of SOPs.
  • PC literate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Fully experienced in both mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Automated warehouse experience is a must.
  • 18th Edition qualification or recognised qualification is a must.
  • Must be willing to undertake additional training to expand knowledge base and develop your skills in line with organisational requirements.
  • You will be working with colleagues from other areas of the business, good communication skills are essential.
