Job Summary:

Cook/General Assistant

Hours:10 Hours Per Week - 9am -2pm

Tuesday, 9am - 2pm (for Tuesday & Wednesday lunches)

Thursday, 9am - 2pm (for Thursday & Friday lunches)

£11.50 per hour

13 days holiday including public holidays per year (equivalent to 6.1 weeks per year)

We are looking for an enthusiastic home style cook, who loves cooking and feeding people

The successful applicant will provide two-course light lunches for our Members who attend activities on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with approximately 10-15 people attending lunch each day.

You will be responsible for:

• Menu planning,
• Provision of high quality meals and snacks for our Members
• Tidying up and cleaning the kitchen areas after service
• Assisting with the serving of meals/snacks

You will:

• Ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Dundee Blind & Partially Sighted Society and external regulators are met
• Consult with Members to ensure individual dietary needs are met

Role requirements:

• Experience of planning, preparing, cooking and delivering a high standard of meal service
• An understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements of older people
• Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent is desirable or must be prepared to undertake training
• Team player with enthusiasm and a good sense of humour
• The flexibility to work longer hours to assist with the activities during staff annual leave periods.

This job would suit someone who enjoys feeding people and is willing to be part of the team and engage with our Members.
