Customer Service Team Leader

Libraries Unlimited, the leading charity in library services, is on the lookout for a dedicated and dynamic Customer Service Team Leader to join our flagship library, Exeter Library.

As the heart of Devon's bustling community, Exeter Library welcomes approximately 2,000 visitors daily, offering a diverse range of services, from traditional library resources to cutting-edge technology like public PCs and a Fab Lab.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Customer Service Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supervising our team of Customer Service Assistants, ensuring the delivery of top-notch library services.

You'll maintain a high standard of customer care, resolving inquiries efficiently and handling any complaints tactfully. Collaborating with the Exeter Library Management Team, you'll oversee staffing, security, and operational efficiency, fostering a positive work environment.

Your role will extend to event management, ensuring adequate staffing for cultural events, and overseeing meeting room bookings, guaranteeing an excellent customer experience.

Your Skills and Qualities:
We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, patience under pressure, and the ability to give clear instructions. Previous supervisory experience, particularly in public-facing roles, is desirable, but not essential.

Proficiency in IT, including digital and online tools, is necessary, and experience in library services or a similar sector is advantageous.

A positive attitude, commitment to customer care, and the ability to adapt to evolving service developments are fundamental.
