Working in Forensics:
The forensic investigations sector commands high fee margins and is in constant demand.

Civil engineers are engaged for their specialist expertise, in this instance drainage, but will regularly tackle a range of civilengineering investigations where their knowledge can be applied, drawing upon specialist support where required.

The investigators' objective is to identify the root cause of a failure, this commences with a physical investigation and culminates in a reportrevealing the cause, the conditions that led to the failure and often where responsibility lies.

This information is used to settle disputes and claims and can be used during litigation in a court of law.

Their findings are often the catalyst for improvingdesign, construction methodology and materials. Unlike the consulting engineering industry, their business is not tender driven.

Business levels are consistent, and conversely, can be further boosted during economic slowdowns as the engineering constructionindustry is drawn towards claims and litigation.

Your Profile:
A degree qualified civil engineer, or equivalent, whose experience includes some drainage design. Four or more years' experience, ideally gained within consulting engineering. A lateral thinker with a technical grounding anda high standard of written and verbal communication skills. A valid UK driving licence.
