Up to £23,000.00 depending on experience
37.5 hours per week

As our Pharmacy Assistant you will:
Manage stock control of medicines and other items within the Pharmacy Department

Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock and medical gases for the pharmacy using appropriate electronic systems

Receive and check bulk orders of medicines from our wholesalers, dealing with problems that arise in a timely and efficient fashion

Deal with invoice queries related to the medicines received

Distribute medicines to wards and departments within the hospital to ensure timely and effective patient treatment

Assist in the dispensing of medicines within our dispensary, to ensure the timely and safe supply of medicines to patients

The person


To succeed as a Pharmacy Assistant, you will need:
Good standard of general education, with proven literacy and numeracy.

4 GCSEs including English, Maths and a Science or equivalent.

Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (or GPhC recognised equivalent qualification), or a willingness to work towards this qualification which would be commenced in the workplace within 3 months of employment and completed within agreed timescale

Experience of handling goods and stock management

IT Skills

Good communication and team-working skills

Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential for this role.
