RSR Public Safety are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Birmingham for a Facilities Support Officer.

This is a full time, permanent role and offers a salary of £26,487 - £29,874.


As an FSO, you will work closely with approved contractors, you'll handle the administrative and logístical elements of the estate requirements ensuring all statutory maintenance and repairs are delivered in a timely fashion.


Due to the nature of the role, you'll be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster (approximately one week in five) for which an additional on-call allowance is paid.


Main Duties:


  • Coordinate all reactive and planned maintenance and servicing by contractors
  • Liaise with relevant stake holders to coordinate the effects of planned and reactive works on the wider business as usual processes across the estate
  • Ensure all contractors attending site hold the appropriate clearance levels in line with site security requirements
  • Action multichannel customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner within agreed service levels (SLA's)
  • Attend and assess any building maintenance requests that are submitted before raising with the relevant contractors
  • Undertake general administrative responsibilities to ensure physical site security requirements are upheld
  • Compile contractor quotes for review and approval by supervision
  • Oversee the receipting and processing of invoices for completed works
  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the team as necessary

Essential Requirements:


  • Full driving license and access to own car
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation
  • Ability to use initiative and work with mínimal referral, making decisions alone and escalating where appropriate
  • Experience of maintaining electronic filing systems or records and working to a high level of detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan multiple tasks and project works
  • Willingness to work as part of an oncall roster system with other members of the team (covering evening/night and weekend periods) and to use your own vehicle for callouts as necessary
