We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Housekeeper for our inpatient area Huntsman 5 at the Northern General Hospital.

Housekeepers help to maintain an environment that is tidy, clean and welcoming for our patients, their families and visitors.

They are an important member of the team who are key to the provision of a high quality service and positive patient experience.

The housekeeper is a valued member of the nursing team providing a supporting role to the Senior Sister and the nursing staff.

Your role will include working in close partnership with the ward team and with other member of the multi
- disciplinary team, for example therapist, domestics, ward assistants, porters and catering staff.


We would like you to develop a sense of ownership for your ward and will be responsible for ordering and serving meals, monitoring of stock, running errands and ensuring the ward cleanliness and tidiness is of an excellent standard.

The successful applicant must have a good basic education, good communication skills and possess good timekeeping / management skills.

They must have experience of dealing with and working alongside a wide range of people and the ability to demonstrate practical and organisational skills.

Weekday hours are usually 7am-3pm.

The MSK Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a service for both inpatient and outpatient care for the entire adult population of Sheffield.

The services include Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain Management, Metabolic Bone, Hand Centre, MSK Therapy (PhysioWorks, Staff Physiotherapy Service and Hospital based MSK Therapy Services) and Podiatric Surgery.
