About the Role

***A BBSRC-funded Research Fellow position is available within the research group of Dr Cathy Slack to study how FOXO transcriptional complexes coordinate metabolic changes during ageing in _Drosophila_. The project is highly interdisciplinary and will utilise a combination of _Drosophila_ genetics, _in vivo _confocal microscopy, and proteomics, with a particular focus on identifying novel FOXO protein-protein interactions.

The successful applicant will join the laboratory of Dr Cathy Slack within the School of Life Sciences (SLS) which is located within the vibrant research community on Gibbet Hill Campus alongside Warwick Medical School (WMS).

SLS offers a world-class, multidisciplinary research environment with a large and thriving community of internationally renowned researchers.

Research strengths within SLS cover a broad portfolio of cell and developmental biology, supported by cutting-edge computational and experimental facilities, including genomics, proteomics, biomedical services, and imaging.

SLS also delivers excellent quality teaching using a blend of traditional and innovative teaching methods.

Research Fellows within SLS are actively encouraged and supported to develop their broader academic profile by contributing to teaching at all levels through small group tutorials, practical sessions, and lectures.

The post is funded by a BBSRC Responsive Mode Award to investigate the mechanisms by which FOXO transcription factors coordinate gene expression with changes in the metabolic landscape, particularly during ageing.

Our group aims to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive organismal ageing using _Drosophila_ as a model system.

You will join an international and well-resourced team of researchers with the opportunity to form interdisciplinary collaborations and to present at international meetings and conferences.
