Description
The Mid Essex Recovery College is a brand new service that will provide a safe space for people to learn new skills, expand on existing ones, and attend courses developed to support mental health recovery.
Our courses are all co-produced by experts by experience (individuals with lived experience of mental health), as well as individuals with professional experience of working for mental health services
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Recovery Trainer, whi is confident in positively utilising their recovery journey and is able to, within their advanced role, inspire and lead other peer trainers within the team.
The role will involve directly teaching students attending the Recovery College, delivering a range of courses, taster sessions and workshops.
You will be engaging and empowering students in their own recovery, helping them to develop a sense of hope, self - management skills and control over their own lives.
The post holder will:
- Be an expert by experience through their own journey of mental health recovery.
- Work together with Practitioner Recovery Trainers (mental health experts by professional experience of working in mental health service) on the coproduction, design and delivery of a range of educational courses on mental health and recovery.
- Have direct contact with students, delivering training and support and working with a range of key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.
- Supervise and coordinate a select pool of Peer Recovery Trainers and volunteers.
We deliver a broad range of health and social care services in the community, and are committed to making sure that they are safe, responsive and of high quality.

We work from a variety of community settings, such as community hospitals, community clinics, schools, nursing homes and primary care settings, as well as within people's homes to provide more than 40 services to children, families and adults across Essex, Dorset, East Anglia and the North of England.
