Rail Systems ¦ E&P

Location - Basingstoke, Pontyclun, Swanley, Highbridge

(South Region)

An exciting opportunity for a P6 Senior Planner to join an growing business unit based in the Wales region supporting the delivery of portfolio of engineering associated E&P rail projects including mechanical, electrical, Electrification, power, telecoms, comms and signalling schemes.

Business Unit


A growing Rail Systems team, made up of a variety of projects and frameworks specialising in M&E (mechanical & electrical), electrification, signalling, power, lighting and telecoms projects for key rail clients in the Western & Wales regions.


The Role


As P6 Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed and integrated project programmes using Primavera P6 for a portfolio of rail systems engineering projects and frameworks.


Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Support the successful delivery of project programmes complying with planning standard and client requirements.
  • Provide input into project risk registers.
  • Develop design and build programmes using P
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gather progress information for project/programme updates.
  • Continuously monitor programmes to ensure they are updated to accurately reflect progress and revised works.
  • Provide regular feedback and reports on the status of the projects to the project delivery team including early warnings and change management programme updates
  • Identify resource information and material /plant requirement timescales for procurement purposes

Requirements:


To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a P6 Planner / Senior Planner in a rail and civil engineering environment.


  • P6 Primavera experience
  • Rail Systems engineering project experience.
  • Rail experience
  • Experience in a site based role (prior to your planning career) with understanding and appreciation for construction activities, timescales, and project requirements in order to effectively build and update accurate programmes for live projects.
