If so, we are recruiting for a
Natural Capital Graduate to join our Natural Capital & Sustainable Investment team in Scotland.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking graduate to support the expansion and growth of the Natural Capital & Sustainable Investment business line.

Bidwells' Scotland manages c200,000 hectares of rural property from offices in Perth, Fort William and Inverness.

The Natural Capital & Sustainable Investment team, view investment through an environmental lens, helping clients unlock environmental opportunities in their existing land holdings and securing the right sustainable investments for their portfolios.

What you'll be doing?

  • Undertaking scoping and feasibility studies for a range of natural capital projects, including peatland restoration and native woodland creation.
  • Conducting site surveys and assessments


  • GIS

  • Using remote sensing imagery to digitise and quantify landscape features
  • Assisting with operational plans and the delivery of peatland restoration
  • Assisting with the management of ongoing projects, including liaising with contractors on site
  • Engaging with public and private organisations to assess restoration outcomes


  • Research

  • Producing reports for a variety of clients on strategic land management and naturebased solutions

You'll be enrolled on our 2-year graduate development programme, which will focus on commercial and financial acumen, presentation and writing skills and effective communication.

This will develop you beyond your current technical expertise, building a strong foundation for your career in natural capital consultancy.


  • Part One: A programme which will see you get involved in a range of skill development activities and networking opportunities, not just with other graduates, but with key senior stakeholders.
  • Part Two: The potential to further your study and focus on specific natural capital qualifications.

Essential requirements:

  • Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather and seasons
  • Good organisational skills with a methodical and logical approach
  • Good writing skills
  • Good communication skills speaking to a variety of stakeholders
  • Computer literate competency with word, excel etc
  • Driving licence and clean record

Desired:

  • A relevant degree, 2:1 or above
  • Some prior experience with GIS software, but this can be trained
  • Ecological / environmental background helpful, but not essential
  • Hill navigation experience or decent time spent outdoors
  • Financial literacy
  • Creative, innovative and strategic mindset

Your Package:


We will pay you competitively and provide you with an excellent benefits package: 25 days holiday (increasing with length of service), on the job and professional training, up to 8% contributory pension, health insurance, discretionary bonus, medicash scheme (money towards dental treatments, opticians and remedial therapies).


Salary:
£25,000.00 per year
