Description

We are seeking to recruit a Post Graduate Operation Support Administrator to oversee a range of duties, including HR & HSE responsibility, for a busy two-unit fibreglass factory in the Castleford area.

This position involves elements of both HR & HSE for a workforce of approximately 40+.

Applicants need to have an organised and methodical approach as the position includes documentation recording and maintenance.


Requirements are:

  • A graduate or part qualified HR/HSE professional
  • Excellent work ethic evidenced by previous work experience.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Selfstarter, selfmotivated and goal orientated, with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • An indepth experience of using Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel & Word, including knowledge of formulas, conditional formatting, and document merging.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Be approachable with good listening skills.
  • Possess the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Duties will include:

Health & Safety:


  • Ensure the highest levels of health and safety are upheld in line with legislative, quality and moral standards.
  • Monitoring & ensuring PPE usage at both factories, and enforcing disciplinary meetings for regular failure, when required.
  • PPE management for the site including monitoring of consignment stock
  • Support safety initiatives and support the team in achieving/exceeding Health & Safety targets playing a key role in ensuring the successful operation.
  • Ensure completion and review of risk assessments & safe working practices are carried out encouraging involvement and consultation with the key managers, reviewing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Actively promote safe working practices introducing innovative approaches to ensure consistent safety improvements, analysing business trends and introducing corrective measures.
  • Ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety are being followed by regular Safety walks.
  • Fire alarm testing & Fire Drills.
  • Recording & investigating any accidents and Near Miss incidents.
Create and Maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Rescue Plans.

Maintain records to ensure legal and company compliance.

  • Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to implement and maintain our safety management system.
  • Carry out Near miss and Accident investigations.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, guidance and other relevant developments and implement strategies where necessary.
  • Ensure documentation is periodically reviewed and updated
  • Maintain in house Training Matrix.
  • Ensure trained staff maintain qualifications with refresher courses.

HR Duties:


  • Monitoring absence, attendance & timekeeping & ensuring that absence documentation is completed.
  • Recruiting and interviewing prospective new staff and carrying out inductions.
  • HR duties including issuing & chairing disciplinaries, as well as conducting Grievance meetings.
  • Recording production information onto QA spreadsheet.
  • Carrying out and recording random drug & alcohol tests.

Other duties:

  • Updating product records on computer system by ensuring that specifications and drawing information is updated.
  • Creating & maintaining Bills of Materials on computer.
  • Maintaining & creating documentation for the efficient operation and recording of production
This is a permanent position and will include full familiarisation training in the documentation and procedures being used.

Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications, but applicants need to state expected salary in their covering letter.
