About the Employer
Impact Futures are currently recruiting on behalf of The Ridge Medical Practice for a General Practice Administrator.

The Ridge Medical Practice is a large NHS Funded General Practice surgery caring for around 23,500 patients.

Your role will be to work as part of the team providing high quality and efficient care to the local community, providing general assistance to the Practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors


Working Hours:

This role is for a total of 37.5 hours a week.

  • Monday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Tuesday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Wednesday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Thursday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Friday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Saturday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM
  • Sunday: 08:30AM 12:00PM & 1:00PM 4:00PM

Weekly Wage :

Job Duties:

This Job description reflects the duties we currently anticipate the post holder undertaking. However, the duties required of the post holder could change over time.

You will be expected to undertake tasks/duties required to maintain the efficient running of the Practice, which may not be detailed on this Job description, but which are commensurate with your grade and within your capabilities.

Any permanent changes to this Job description will be made following consultation with the post holder.

  • To work within all relevant practice policies and procedural guidelines and to agreed practice standards and protocols. Keep operations flowing across the Practice by making sure all assigned administration work is carried out and instructions are followed and the jobholder performs to the best of their ability.
  • To receive, assist and direct patients (care navigation) in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • To provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance with written protocols.
  • To work as part of the Ridge team supporting the overall daytoday operation of the practice as a whole.
  • To ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice
  • Have an understanding of the services we offer and direct patients to the right clinician
  • Deal with general inquiries, explain procedures and make new and followup appointments.
  • Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
  • Receive and make telephone calls as required and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
  • Ensure data entry is entered to a high standard and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • To work with all teams to review operations to drive up quality and efficiency of services delivered.
  • Liaise with stakeholders (University and outside agencies) as and when required
  • Chaperone Doctors/Clinical staff if necessary
  • Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours
  • Carry out any reasonable administrative tasks requested by any member of the practice team
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or Managers
  • Assist in showing / teaching other staff members and external professionals aspects of the job/working day
  • Provide holiday/sickness cover for other members of the Practice nonclinical team
  • Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
  • Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.
  • When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured, and rooms are tidied and ready for the next day.
