Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join a dynamic team, supporting the Finance Department at CVLife.

You will provide high quality, effective financial administrative support and guidance on behalf of Coventry Culture Trust and Coventry Sports Foundation.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Support the Management Accounts Assistant in the provision of quality financial management services to all Corporate Entities.
  • Assist in inputting purchase invoices, making supplier payments, raising sales invoices, bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Processing monthly financial data up to Trial Balance on Sage.
  • Assist the Management Accounts Assistant with external auditors in the audit process in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure the accurate processing of data to help support the provision of information to managers.
  • To maintain uptodate ledgers.
  • Liaise where necessary with relevant third parties including HMRC, banks and financial institutions, auditors etc.
  • An understanding of all aspects of Finance.
  • AAT qualifications or a Graduate looking for their first job in finance or someone who is studying in finance.
  • A working understanding of Sage Accounting Software.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • A hands on approach in a busy finance office without compromising accuracy.
Role is based primarily at Xcel Leisure Centre with free onsite parking. Flexible start and finish times and agile working is available.


Indefinite position, 37.5 hours per week.

Scope:


Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry Trust are operating as CV Life, so that the scope of this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment of employment contracts held with either Coventry Sports Foundation or Culture Coventry Trust.


Overall purpose and objective of the role:

To ensure the accurate processing of all data to help support the accurate and timely provision of information to Managers such as the Management Accounts and to maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers (debtors, creditors and nominal).


Main duties of the role:


  • To support the Management Accounts Assistant in the provision of quality financial management services to all Corporate Entities.
  • Assist the Management Accounts Assistant in reconciling all company income on Recreatex for credit cards, cash, DD's and online sales and vouchers
  • Assist the Management Accounts Assistant in posting journals and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • To process all monthly financial data up to Trial Balance on Sage.
  • To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the nominal, purchase and sales ledgers using Sage Accounting software.
  • Assist with cash counting at sites and ensuring sites following cashingup procedures.
  • To create sales invoices, and input purchase invoices and deal with supplier queries.
  • To assist the Management Accounts Assistant with external auditors in the audit process in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process all bank transactions bank all cheques and cash as required, post the bank statement to Sage and reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Process monthly petty cash and credit card transactions.
  • To produce all necessary returns ensuring their integrity and accuracy.
  • Liaise where necessary with relevant third parties including HMRC, banks and financial institutions, auditors etc.
  • Any other duties that fall within the scope and spirit of the post.
