Job Purpose:

It is expected that the QS will manage projects ranging in value of between £3m - £15m.

Projects will be primarily based in the Public Sector and experience of leading schemes through two-stage procurement and pre-construction phases as well as delivery in construction is required.

The QS will be expected to demonstrate collaborative and partnering behaviours aligned to the Public Sectors through which we procure and operate to provide exemplary customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

During proposal stage, prepare the budget and prelims build up, obtain and vet trade contractor bids, compile the ISG company information section for the proposal document and collate the commercial document for submission
Prepare and monitor bid package tender schedule and report against the cost plan where required and advise on selection of trade contractors
Place orders and instruct / manage trade contractors. (Including compiling subcontracts/works contacts/trade contracts)
Prepare, submit and agree monthly costs reports, collating information from other Project/Assistant surveyors as necessary

Prepare Cost/Value Reconciliation (CVR), create regular budget and price updates, update computerised cost control system and prepare the monthly cost and progress report for ISG Directors responsible.

Learn and understand the rule of the frameworks that they work on to ensure that ISG are fully compliant with the requirements of all our frameworks


Skills / Experience:

Relevant trade / technical / degree qualified - MRICS preferred
Experience of managing and running commercial aspects of a project ranging from £3m-£15m
Experience of working on JCT and NEC forms of contract is preferable
Experience of two-stage tendering
