TPF Recruitment are recruiting a Bookkeeper for a fantastic local Accountancy Practice, based in Sevenoaks, Kent. As a Bookkeeper you will manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • To enter bookkeeping information received from clients.
  • To prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts.
  • To calculate CIS payable for those clients where relevant and making CIS submissions.
  • To chase clients to ensure that relevant deadlines are met in relation to VAT and CIS.
  • To pay suppliers and taxes as they become due and to chase debts to ensure there is sufficient money in his account to cover wages etc each week.
  • To complete and send debtors schedules.
  • Accounts reconciliations, calculations of relevant provisions and preparation of appropriate schedules, working papers.
  • Preparation & calculation of VAT returns including the responsibility of filing the VAT returns including the responsibility of filing the VAT returns at HMRC on time.
  • Offer training, support and guidance to more junior members of staff throughout various procedures and use of various programs.
  • Compiling various correspondence to various sources including Clients, Inland Revenue, Banks & Companies House.
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Word documents and excel spreadsheets including various formulae/tables as necessary.

Benefits:

- £25,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.

AAT qualified, studying, or qualified by experience Strong Xero or QuickBooks software experience Good knowledge of Excel Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
