Bristol City Council's Trading Standards Service is looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and forward thinking Intelligence Officer, based remotely to work across three Trading Standards Teams.

You will be joining some of the most innovative and leading Services within the profession and a nationally acclaimed Service working for Bristol City Council Trading Standards Service, Swindon Borough Council Trading Standards Service and the National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team jointly hosted by Bristol City Council and Powys County Council

You will have experience of secure data management and input, have knowledge of specialist intelligence software (i.e.

the National Intelligence Database and / or other intelligence products and systems), understand the role of intelligence in enforcement operations (i.e.

the National Intelligence Model), and be able to produce clear intelligence reports to lead our operational tasking.

You may be required to work outside core hours when necessary and weekend working as and when required.


A Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Check will be required together with Police Enhanced Vetting (NPPV2)

How do I apply?

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
