Legal Counsel, highly reputable organisation, Milton Keynes/Hybrid, up to £80,000
Our client, a well-established, highly reputable organisation in the Buckinghamshire area, is seeking a qualified lawyer with in-house and/or private practice experience to work with the Head of Legal Services to provide legal advice and support to the businessin a timely manner on corporate/commercial contracts.
The purpose of this role:
- To ensure compliance with all laws governing the business, operating at all levels throughout the business, including liaison with the Senior Leadership Team
- To ensure legal conformity, contain legal risks within appetite and safeguard the businesses reputation by ensuring that legal guidelines are follows
- To provide legal guidance on employment law matters
Key Accountabilities of the role:
- Working collaboratively across the business & external stakeholders
- Providing high quality, pragmatic legal advice on a timely basis for corporate and commercial matters on a broad range of projects, products, and propositions
- Providing advice to all areas of the business on employment law and GDPR
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to protect the business
- Building relationships with a number of key business partners.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks and raising key risks and issues to the Head of Legal
- Providing input into board, committee and other papers where required
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications
- Ensure business processes are compliant with any relevant legislation
- Enhance legal competence throughout the organisation
Role Requirements:
- Experienced in employment law matters, TUPE, ACASS & tribunals
- Possesses an eye for detail as well as a commercial, pragmatic attitude
- Strong relationship management skills and confidence in dealing with clients and senior colleagues
- Quick to adjust work priorities to meet the changing demands of both the market and internal partners
- A collaborator and a dedicated teammate
- The ability to manage complex stakeholders and partnering relationships
- Experience of communicating and presenting complex information to internal and external stakeholders
- Drafting and varying employee contracts
- Dealing with internal employee policies
- Advising on employee claims e.g., unfair dismissal
