Job Purpose


You will be responsible for delivering and supporting an outstanding learning experience for AEB learners within the employability division, including the provision of pastoral care & support, and additional learning support [ALS].

You will provide quality additional learning support services which meet the needs of each individual learner, and which maximises retention, potential and achievement on any of our programmes.

Responsibilities [The below listed tasks/responsibilities are not exhaustive: ]

Administrative & Strategy

Support with attendance monitoring including carrying out engagement calls.

Maintain accurate records in line with funding requirements on relevant systems.


Create and maintain a library of up to date, relevant and meaningful resources to support tutors and learners to achieve success.

Contribute to the self-assessment process which informs continuous improvement.


Produce a detailed monthly report to the ALS Manager relating to the current portfolio of learners who are accessing ALS or pastoral support.

Coaching & Collaborating

Ensure quality learning support service is delivered to learners requiring additional learning support.

Provide pastoral support for selected learners ensuring their physical and emotional welfare if supported.

Carry out regular support reviews with learners [and employers where appropriate] to track progress towards timely completion.

Support and prepare learners to achieve their learning outcomes by providing guidance, support, and signposting.

Provide ongoing information, advice, and guidance with learners to assist them in reaching their aspirations and goals.

Work with the Operational Support Administrators to ensure excellent levels of compliance associated with any LSF claim.

Attend support meetings with learners, employers, and tutors to provide pastoral or learning support needs/ adjustments where applicable.

Liaise where appropriate with the Safeguarding team.

Training & Compliance

Keep up to date with SEND and ALS guidance and legislation where applicable.

Person Specification


Qualifications:

Level 3 Safeguarding (if not held, this will be provided)
Up to date GDPR training (If not held this will be provided)

Experience

Experience of managing student support in the areas of, pastoral care, and additional learning support
Experience of managing and developing provision to ensure it is run efficiently and effectively
Be able to conduct assessments and analyse results to design a meaningful ASL support package.
Ideally, two years' experience of working in an education training and development environment.
Ideally, one years' experience within a pastoral/ ALS/ SEN role
Previous experience of designing ALS support packages or sign posting

Knowledge & Skills

Good IT skills and the ability to analyse data
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of learners.
Self-drive and motivated
Excellent team skills
The ability to inspire, enthuse and motivate learners and colleagues.
Good organisational skills, being able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to build and maintain collaborative working arrangements with external agencies.
Knowledge of funding streams and funding requirements
