We are currently recruiting an Operational Risk Consultant to join our team.

In this role, you will analyse and report on the management of operational risks within L&G Retail.

You will also collaborate effectively with business managers, process and control owners by providing guidance and support, challenging where necessary to influence effective internal controls, timely and proportionate responses to significant control issues and risk events, and optimised data quality in support of operational risk management activities.

What you'll be doing

Supporting the development and embedding of the operational risk management and internal control framework across L&G Retail, with a focus on the Group Operational Risk Policy (and associated policies and frameworks), ensuring that sufficient emphasis is given to the fair treatment of customers.
Supporting business stakeholders with Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes, challenging the adequacy (accuracy and completeness) of risk maps maintained on OneSumX.
Overseeing the management of operational risks across L&G Retail and support the efficient delivery of timely and accurate risk reporting, challenging as appropriate.
Supporting the delivery of riskbased Spotlight Reviews and associated reports, making recommendations to business management to address any material concerns identified.
Supporting product development (Product Lifecycle Management) and transformation/change initiatives across L&G Retail to ensure that material operational risks are identified and mitigated.
Providing guidance on the risk management and internal control framework and key risks systems, as required.

What we're looking for

Degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a similar role is desirable
A relevant risk management qualification such as IOR or IRM is desirable.
A good understanding of the financial services industry, including insurance, asset management, pensions and mortgage products.
Sound experience in financial services risk management is desirable.
Strong influencing and presentation skills
