Senior Internal Auditor
Based in Swindon with some remote working £40,000 - £50,000 Per annum
We are seeking to recruit an experienced senior internal auditor who will report to the Head of Internal Audit & Risk.
What you'll do
- Perform riskbased audits on all areas of the business including, operations, finance, people, IT, legal and commercial, prepare reports and conduct closing meetings with the management team
- Track agreed actions from audits until they are fully implemented
- Assist the Head of Internal Audit & Risk with formulating the annual audit plan and preparing summary reports for the Executive Team, Board and the Audit Committee
- Assist the Head of Internal Audit & Risk in providing independent and objective assurance on risk management the Executive Team, Board and the Audit Committee
- Coordinate activities with external auditors to support their audit and review procedures
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key partners across the group
- Recognise where specialists are required, sourcing and managing their input
- Deputise for the Head of Internal Audit & Risk when required
- Flexible working available but requirement to work in Rowan House (Swindon) 23 days a week. In addition, occasional UK based travel to Smiths News locations required

Who we're looking for
- You will likely be Qualified (IIA, CCAB, ICAEW or equivalent) or qualified with experience of working in a similar role within a company environment.
- Strong background in operational audits, process improvement, internal controls and risk mitigation.
- A committed, team player who is also able to work flexibly and unsupervised.
- A proven ability to deliver to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience of logistics and SAP would be desirable.
